Our Country
A new native title claim has been accepted for registration by the National Native Title Tribunal. The Warrabinga-Wiradjuri #7 (NSD857/2017) claim application area consists of 14,139 square kilometres located 160km north-west of Sydney, extending from Dunedoo in the north to near Katoomba in the south.
The map to the right hand side outlines the external boundary of the area covered by the claim. A more detailed map of the claim area is available to download below. Not all land within the external boundary is claimed, for example, freehold land is excluded, as are residential leases and public works such as roads, schools and hospitals.

About the Artist
Rick Slaven is a Lithgow-based artist and proud Mowgee/Wiradjuri man. His clan is from Mudgee. Rick works with acrylic on canvas and his paintings are reflective of his deep engagement and strong passion for cultural heritage, traditional practices, habitat and wildlife protection. His work is vibrant with joyful colour dancing across the surface and is an expression of his vision of hope for country. Rick states that he has been painting for six years and has a passion for creative indigenous art for an individuals's journey. Also, because of his deep engagement with indigenous culture, sacred sites, the environment and mother earth. his connection to Country is strong and being on country is central to his well-being.
